where do you think the turning point is in the book?

Emma-i think it's when guy meets Faber (an english professor) and decides that he doesn't want to burn books anymore. Yoshi Jump

Nicole- "but this is my house" Tiger

Elizabeth-i agree with nicole that the turning point is on the last page of the second part when montag finds out that his house is being burned because it contains books Sheep

What do you think of Guy Montag?

Nicole- he doesn't think for himself and he needs a person with him all the time so he can be instructed. he annoys me. he also makes really stupid mistakes Melon Smash

Emma-i think he's going insane towards the end of the book. He doesn't seem to be thinking very rationally. Melon Smash

Elizabeth- guy montag just goes along with his life and doesn't question why he's doing something. he doesn't question whether it's right to burn books he doesn't question why the world is the way it is. and as nicole said, he doesn't think for himself!!! Melon Smash

do you have any comments about any other characters besides montag?

Nicole- mildred is really stupid, along with her friends. they're stupid, shallow, and TOTALLY brainwashed by society. mildred is also stupid for wanting to run over dogs and rabbits in the country. beatty is an idiot and jerk

Elizabeth- i feel bad for all of the professors and teachers that had to turn into hobos because they taught literature and reading before books were banned. it also said in the book ".... before Cambridge turned into an Atomic Engineering School." Mildred is ignorant and self-centered and not aware of why she's doing what she's doing (like montag). clarisse is different because she questions why things are the way they are and wonders things people don't usually think about. i liked clarisse before she died

Emma- i agree with nicole about mildred and her friends being stupid and clueless. they're always on the television walls and they don't really know what's going on. it's really sad that professors are outlaws and the world is backwards, compared to ours right now

What do you think about the ending of Fahrenheit 451?

Elizabeth-i feel that i want to learn more about the devastated cities in detail or maybe have an epilogue where it talks about Mildred's last moments before her death (if she did die. bradbury didn't really mention if she did or not) the ending wasn't bad though. it stopped and left you wondering about how the rest of the story would play out. To go back further though, i like how montag met professors and teachers who became outcasts because they taught literature. He gets to join a circle of people who feel the same way he does about books and bookburn

I think that the ending was okay. Like, I wonder what happened to the city, but it also got me thinking of how I would've ended it. Also, I feel the rest of the book wasn't as confusing as the beginning. It expalined what I was confuzzeled about, eventually.
